Blogging is a new hobby but reading books has been my hobby since fifth grade, and frankly for me there is no better past-time than reading books. I would like to thank and bless my English teacher of fifth grade who encouraged me to read books.
Of courses it was love at first sight. I just love reading; the words of Enid Blyton wove around in my mind a wonderful picture of imagination and possibilities. I loved it all and of course i was a teenager, every dream is true at that age. Well novels really formed an integral part of my life. Like a Christmas gift came Harry Potter. Boy!! J.K.Rowling really is a genius. The way she wrote was mind-boggling. I used to be so engrossed in reading the book that i used to lose track of time.
My parents were puzzled by the fact that there son couldn’t bring the same sincerity in his studies. But how do i explain to them the addiction of reading novels. As years passed by my imagination grew and i happily ruled over my kingdom of imagination.
I am indebted to great people like J.K.Rowling, J.R.R.Tolkien, Enid Blyton, Satyajit Ray, Jeffrey Archer and many more in honing my skills of imagination.
For a long time i hated non-fiction, it was one of those few self-assumed notions, i had in my teenage. But i thought of treading into this area last year. This genre of novels is truly enlightening. If fiction developed my imagination, non-fiction helped me in developing my thinking. I am still exploring this genre so i will have to wait to enjoy the fruits of them!!!!
I once read a story in which a man is kept imprisoned and is given only books to read. After the man is freed he is asked “how was your experience?” He replied,” I have eaten the most delicious cuisines, roamed the most beautiful places, danced and made love to the most beautiful ladies and fought wars alone. I have truly lived my lifetime through this books”
The jailer was truly dumbstruck. My friends’ novels have their own world, explore it and trust me you would never want to get away from it!!!!
